Seat belts
A child or young person travelling in the
rear or front seats of a vehicle must
normally wear a seat belt or, in the case of
children below the age of 11, a child
restraint.
If a passenger is under the age of 14, the
driver of the vehicle is responsible for
making sure that the child wears a seat belt
or restraint where this is required by law.
Everyone over the age of 14 is responsible
for wearing a seat belt when this is
required by law. The driver or owner of the
vehicle is not responsible for her/his
passengers over this age. |
