Religion
A parent has the right to choose which
religion (or none at all) a child or young
person will follow at home and at school,
although a child or young person may choose
her/his religion if s/he has sufficient
understanding.
However, if a parent considers the religion
to be harmful, s/he can ask a court to
intervene.
There is a general requirement on schools to
provide religious education, but it may be
possible for a child or young person to
avoid this.
