Intentional homelessness
A person may be intentionally homeless if
s/he has deliberately done something which
has caused her/him to lose her/his home.
However, the definition of intentionally
homeless is complex and local authorities
often make wrong decisions. For example, a
person who has become homeless because of
rent or mortgage arrears should not
automatically be considered to be homeless
intentionally. The local authority must look
at each case individually. If s/he lost her
home because of genuine financial problems
s/he will not be intentionally homeless. |
