Horse riding.
A child under the age of 14
can only hire a horse for riding if s/he
will be under the supervision of a
responsible person aged 16 or over.
A child under the age of 14 must wear
approved protective headgear when riding a
horse or pony on a public road. Any adult
who has responsibility for the child will be
committing an offence if s/he allows the
child to ride without suitable headgear. In
this context, a responsible adult includes a
parent or other person who has custody,
charge or care of the child, the owner of
the horse or any person in possession of the
horse immediately before the child rides it.
